Position Title: Reinforcing Steel Estimator
Ardel Steel is accepting applications for a full-time estimator in our Saskatoon office. We are interested in a motivated individual with a winning attitude to join our team.
Responsibilites
- Prepare timely, accurate & professional take-off’s of reinforcing steel from architectural/structural plans for pricing including detailing hours, freight trips and fabrication.
- Plan & prepare that all incoming projects are bid as per tender documents/specifications.
- Process all change orders, price requests and revisions to quotations and/or contracts.
- Generate documents for successful bids to the production/administration departments.
- Ensure that all Sales Manager duties are fulfilled in their absence.
- Use initiative and judgment in solving problems, obtaining and analyzing data.
- Promote and maintain customer relationships.
- Attend project sites and Construction Association meetings when required.
Qualifications
- Must have experience in reinforcing steel detailing and/or estimating.
- Requires an understanding of general construction practices (specifically concrete construction).
- Must be able to interpret architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings.
- aSa Estimating experience would be a great asset, but not required.
- Prefer someone with strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and aSa Estimating.
- Must be able to work flexible hours. Over-time will be required upon request of Sales Manager.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute both as a team member and independently.
